Learn to love the new ‘you’
For better or worse, there’s no denying that pregnancy and birth changes your body. Some women are lucky enough to snap straight back into shape; but for the rest of us, getting fit and toned after pregnancy can be a little more challenging. Pilates uses gentle but effective movements to strengthen your body and combat post-pregnancy aches and pains. It’s a great way to start your journey back to fitness.
Ready to reclaim your waist?
With 12-years’ experience as an NHS physiotherapist and professional Pilates training with the APPI behind me, I’ve developed a Pilates class specifically for new mummies that are at least six weeks post-natal. We’ll be focusing on your back and tummy muscles, using gentle exercises to tone up your natural corset muscles. We’ll also will work together to engage and strengthen your pelvic floor muscles, so you feel calm and in control.
Babies are welcome here
Each new mum attending the class is welcome to bring her baby along. Your baby can rest in their car seat or on a mat whilst you exercise. Most of the class is not interactive with baby, but there are opportunities to interact with your baby (e.g. during 4-point kneeling positions) if you’d like too.
Meet other local mums
Each Mummy Pilates class is held for a maximum of six people. You will have to opportunity to meet other new mummies and their babies and create an invaluable support network of women who also know what a struggle it can be get up every night at 11pm… and 1am… and 3am…
